Hi, Just a quick word about an event I hope to run during the Next Game Night (23rd February)

Basicly, I am hoping to run a Pokemon Sealed Deck tournament using the latest set; Heart Gold and Soul Silver.
Like the name suggests, this set brings everything back to the Kanto and Jhoto generations of Pokemon and, in tune to this, the Card Game takes the mechanics of the game back to the Neo Block of sets.

The Tournament will be a Sealed Deck Tournament, this means participants will get a Set of Six Booster Packs (making for 60 cards total) and from this will be required to make a 40 card deck following basic deck construction rules (No more than 4 of any same named card except for Basic Energy).
Energy Cards (and proxy energy cards, if we run out) will be provided on the day to help deck construction.

Basic Pokemon TCG rules apply with Matches being best of 3 games with each game being having 4 prize cards.

Depending on Numbers, I plan to have it be a double elimination tournament, that way people have at least 2 matches.

Prizes have yet to be finalised but hopefully they will be as follows:
1st Is the Japanese Pokemon Neo Promo Set (Simmialr to this http://www.amazon.com/Pokemon-Card-Game ... B000CQ6KVU) and a theme deck from the Heart Gold Soul Silver expension

2nd will recieve a theme deck from the expansion and two boster packs

3rd will receive a theme deck from the expansion.

Entry is expected to be £15, for which participants receive the cards they pull from the booster packs (participants, in effect, get a booster pack free from the tournament)

Signups will be during next week's Cali Otaku meeting (16th), it would also be helpful if you have the money available that week however, I will accept payment on the night.

Mind you, It's not too had to put the breaks on it if it's too unfeasable, I'll see where I stand on Tues 'bout it.
